Abstract

This study was designed to compare the effectiveness of intraperitoneaanalgesia with thoraco-Iumbarepidural analgeisa 111 postoperative pain relief in laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Sixty patients were included in this study (ASA I and II ) of either sex age ranging from 37-55 years. The chosen patients were scheduled for laparoscopic cholecystectomy in Gastro-enterology Center ,Mansoura University. The studied patients were divided into 3 groups. First group received intraperitoneal bupivacaine 0.5% 20 ml just after creation of pneumoperitoneum onto the hepatodiaphragmatic space and on the gallbladder area. Postoperatively another 20 ml ofbupivacaine 0.5 % pills morphine 2 mg sprayed onto the same areas and on the deperitonized Second group’ received epidural L1-T12 bupivacaine 0.8 mgl Kg and morphine 2 mg in 20 ml saline 0.9%. Third group received 20 ml saline 09% before and after surgery onto the hepatodiaphragmatic space and gall bladder bed.
