Abstract This study included 60 patients who come to the out patient clinic of ENT Department in Mansoura University hospital complaining of symptoms related to paranasal sinuses. 50 patients proved after that to have inflammatory disease and 10 patients have malignant disease. The inflammatory cases were 29 males and 21 females. Their ages range from 5 to 60 years while malignant cases were 6 males and 4 females. Their ages range from I 7 to 80 years. The patients were subjected to full history taking, full clinical examination, plain radiology and CT scanning. Conventional radiological techniques are important in the evaluation of sinus disease, as a general survey of the bony and soft tissue changes. However, the details of soft tissue involvement and bony changes are poorly seen on plain radiographs. Conventional radiographs has been largely supplemented with CT. Computed tomographic sections are clear of overlapping structures and can demonstrate the bony framework and the normal soft tissue structures.
