Abstract Carpal tunnel syndrome ( CTS ) is a common peripheral entrapment However, in some patients an underlying disease process can’t be identified and hence the tenn idiopathic CTS . The ann of this work was to study patients with idiopathic CTS as 1- motor conduction . 2- Serum interleukin - 6 . 3- Correlation between I & 2 The subjects of this study comprised 43 wrists in 30 patients with idiopathic CTS. Their age ranged from 40 - 60 years, all were females. condition was unilateral in 17 patients and bilateral in 13 patients. healthy subjects matching with our patients as regards age & sex, underwent the same laboratory, immunological , radiological and electrophysiological investigations and served as a control group . All patients were subjected to through history taking, and careful clinical examination . All patients were also subjected to laboratory and serological examination including ESR, R.F, blood sugar level and serum IL-6 |
