Abstract Thirty sex patients of acute abdominal troubles 23 males and 13 females with age ranging from 4 m. to 58 Y5 were studied. Plain X-ray and ultrasonographic examination were done and in addition the suitable con- trast study was performed when required • The ’cases were divided into sex groupS. The group of acute cholecystitis comprised 4 cases, the plain radiological findings were radiopaque stone in 3 cases,air fluid level in one case and local ileus in other case. In ultrasound examipation, distended gall bladder in 3 cases, single stone in 2 cases, multiple stones in one case, thick walls more than 3m.m. in 3 cases and sonolucent areas in the wall in one case and local ileus in 2 cases • The group of acute appendicitis comprised 4 cases. The radiological findings were local ileus with air I’,’ fluid levels in all cases. Ultrasound findings were non specific local ileus in right side with fluid dist¬ended small intestinal loops. Free fluid in peritoneal cavity was detected in one case • |
