Abstract

This study was done on 130 patients with theie ages months to 73 years old, 62 were males and 68 30 patients have been examined by MRI, CT and elography, 15 by MRI and CT, 14 by MRI and myelography, 36 y MRI and 35 by CT and Myelography. Plain xray has been done According to -Final diagnosis, they were classi-Fied into 5 roups; congenital (15 patients>, traumatic (21), in-Flammatory neoplastic (37), and degenerative (33). In congenital sac and myelomeningocele, lesions, MRI was superior in detection o-F anomalies e.g meningocele, tethered cord, lipomyelomeningocele, thickened -Filum and meningeal cyst, while CT was superior in o-F bony anomalies e.q diastematomy~lia. Myelography shared in bony and thechal sac lesions e.g spina spina birFida and detection orF gross birFida, open neurral meningocele and tethered co~d but could not di+-Ferentate between tethered cord and tetrmi nale. thickened -Filum In traumatic lesions, Ligamentous injury, post traumatic syrinx and small epidural hematomas were only diagnosed.
