Abstract A clinical, radiological and ultrasonographical evaluation of 80 cases with pathologically proved cancer bladder was carried out in this study. Of these cases, 59 ( 73. 75 ’1’0) are males and 21 ( 26.25%)are females with ages ranged from 5-75 Y , and a peak incidence in the 4 th decade. In this series, the commonest site of origin of cancer bladder is the posterior wall ( 33.64 % ) followed by the lateral walls t 29.91 % ), then the dome ( 12.15% ) . Anterior wall tumours constitute 10.28 % of all tumour masses while bladder neck tumours constitute 3.74 % • The least common site is the trigone ( 2.80 % ) • One of our cases showed 8 ( 7.48 % ), very small tumours scattered allover the bladder wa11s. The commonest gross appearance of the tumours is the nodular fungating type t 71.25 % ) followed by the papillary type ( 23.75 %), then the ulcerative and fibrillary types t 2.5 % for each) . Histopathologically, squamous cell carcinoma is the commonest type ( 52.5 % ) followed by the transitional cell type ( 32.5 % ), then adenocarcinoma t 10 % ) . There are three cases t 3.75 % ), with urinary bladder sarcomas and one case ( 1.25 % ) with undifferentiated tumour . Clinically, there is no case with stage this tumour. |
