Abstract
The present study included 314 individuals from Dakahlia Governorate. The demographic data of them, as regards to age , sex occupation , locality and contaot with animals and/or birds were collected. Toxoplasma infection was diagnosed among them using the indireot hemagglutination IRA test. In the group stUdied, 68 (21.66 %) showed positive IRA test for Toxoplasma antibodies with a titer ranging from 1 : 64 to 1024 and a mean titer of 1 : 136.Thourough analysis of the results of the IRA test in relation to locality , sex , age , occupation and contact with animals and/or birds shows the following : A significantly higher prevalenoe of Toxoplasma infection in rural localities than in urban ones. A significantly higher prevalence among females. The prevalence of Toxoplasma infeotion inoreases with age up to the age of 50 years then deolines , while, the antibody mean titer inoreases with age up to the age.
