Abstract

haptics had induced pathological changes in the angle of anterior chamber. These changes has been observed clinically by gonioscopy. The aim of this work is to record gonioscopic changes that occur follwoing !.O.L implantation. In this study, eighty five cataractous eyes and fifteen aphakic eyes, from output clinics of ophthalmic centre Mansoura University, were subjected to a pre-operative ophthalmological examination including; slit-lamp biomicroscopy, visual acuity testing, applanation tonometry and goniosoopic examination using Goldmann three mirror lens. The patients were classified into 3 groups, 1 st group were subjected to an E.C.C.E with PC.1.0.L implantation, 2nd group were subjected to I.C.C.E with AC.1.0.L implantation while the third aphakic group were subjected to secondary implantation of PC.!.O.L usinq scleral fixation. All cases were followed up by gonioscopy up to 6 months post-operatively with the same schem of pre-operative ex- amination.
