Abstract One hundred sixty patients with Hodgkin’s disease were gathered from the files of patients registered in Radiotherapy Department of Mansoura University Hospital in the period from (1975-1984) inclusive. Ninety-four out of 160 patients were evaluable for study since they had specific treatment in the form of radiotherapy or chemotherapy according to the stage. Moreover clinicoepidemiological profile of the studied group of patients was also done. Male out numbered female with a ratio of 3:1. More than 50% of cases were below 20 years of age and mixed cellularity subtype was the most common variety. The response rate in total cases treated was 97.87%. Twenty-one out of 27 patients with stage I achieved complete remission at the end of treatment, partial remission was observed in 5 patients while 1 patient did not respond to treatment. Complete remission could be achieved in 30 out of 41 patients with stage 2 disease and 11 patients achieved partial remission. Thirteen out of 22 patients with stage 3 achieved complete remission. |
