Abstract
The material of this work comprised 187 schistosomal patients from the outpatient clinic and inpatient at Mansoura University Hospital. The patients were divided into four groups according to the drug used for treatment of schistosomiasis. This group comprised 142 patients; all were given praziquantel. It was further subdivided into four subgr¬oups according to the dose given. SubgrouE A: Comprised eight patients with praziquantel in a dose less than 40 mg /kg b.w. Subgroup B: Comprised 86 patie nt s given praziquante 1 in a dose of 40 mg/kg • This group was further subdivided according to the species and complications of schistosomiasis into the following : 1. Colonic schistosomiasis comprised 20 patient s , 2. Urinary and colonic schistosomiasis without complications , comprised 14 patients.
