Abstract Bronchial asthma is a common disease which is responsible for a large number of hospital admission and out patients visits Various types of bronchial asthma are known This study was focused on extrinsic atopic asthma our work was conducetd on 25 asthmatic patients (17 males and 8 female) and 10 control We measured total IgE for both asthmatics and control and we found that there was high level of the mean value for serum IgE in asthmatics compared to control group This may be due to disturbance of normal regulatory control of IgE releasing B cell we measured specific IgE for certain allergens (milk, house dust, penicillium notatum and cat epithelium) in sera of asthmatic patients, and we observed that specific IgE for different allergens were present in the same patient, with the same degree and this prove that multiple allergens contribute in precipitating asthmatic attacks This also may explain why desensitization, by one al lergen is not effective in prevention of allergic asthma. |
