Abstract This study was carried out on 136 white male albino rats. The rats were divided into the following groups: Group I: Which was kept as control, fed on ordinary diet and tap water. Group II: Which were kept as standard control groups)were divided into 4 groups, where phenobarbitone was given to the first group, isoniazid to the second one, cimetidine to the third and nifedipine to the fourth f,’l”oup. Group III: (Oxygenated groups):which were classified into 6 groups. The first group was exposed to oxygen, the second one was exposed to halothane in oxygen, while the third group was treated with isoniazid and exposed to oxygen and the fourth one was managed as the third group except the exposure was to halothane in oxygen. The fifth group was treated with nifedipine, isoniazid and was exposed to halothane in oxygen and the same was done in the sixth group except nifedipine which was replaced by cimetidine. Group IV: (Hypoxic groups) which were divided into 6 groups. The first group was exposed to hypoxic mixture, the second one was exposed to halothane in hypoxic mixture, while the third one was treated with phenobarbitone and exposed to hypoxia and the fourth group was managed as the third one except that the exposure was to halothane -in hypoxic mixture. |
