Abstract This thesis is concerned with investigating the major late Quaternary lithoresistivity stratigraphy as well as determining some of the geomorphic features particularly the former defunct Nile branches that had access to the study area as well as possible existence of buried sand islands by using the geoelectric resisvity technique. Moreover, archaeological prospecting using the newly developed Resistance Scanning technique has been applied at two archaeological sites (Behbeit el - Hagara Temple and El Kom El Akder) to detect the possibility of buried archaeological remains. |
