Abstract

The present study deals mainly with the analysis of the wireline logs for eleven deep wells drilled in the onshore and offshore in the northern part of Sinai, Egypt. These well logs include the caliper, formation density, neutron, resistivity, sonic, gamma - ray spectrometry and high resolution dipmeter logs. The intention is to evaluate the hydrocarbon source rocks of the Cretaceous section in the area of study as well as revealing depositional environments, structural and stratigraphical settings. A number of isopach, lithofacies, structural maps, geologic cross sections, three dimensional representations and stereonets are constructed to display the various geological, lithological and structural elements.
