Abstract

This study was carried out to investigate : cellulolytic and hemicelluloytic microflora present in the rumen of buffaloes and cows (isolation and identification), enzymatic activities of the isolated microbes, effect of buffaloes and cows rumen fluid on the digestibility of some common roughages, selection of the most active celluloytic and hemicellulolytic microbes isolated from buffaloes and cows rumens to study their performance and their enzymatic properties, effect of microbial and rumen liquor crude enzymes on cellulose and hemicellulolse of some common roughages and the effect of temperature, pH, some microelements and vitamins on enzymatic activities.
