Abstract
The present work was carried out in order to find out the potentiality of 24 Streptomyces species in the production of growth-regulating substances and some degradative enzymes particularly-amylase and proteinase. The following results were obtained: The most effective strains towards the production of growth-regulating substances and enzymes were Streptomyces alboviridis, S.griseoviridis, S.olivaceoviridis, S.rimosus, S.phaeochromogenes, S.rochei and Streptomyces.
