Abstract
The object of this work is to synthesize some substituted sulfonates & sulfonamides. In all these newly synthesized compounds various xylene moities were present. The presence of these xylenes may help in systematic correlation of structure activity relationship. Synthesis of sulfonate derivatives : Various sulfonate esters, 3,4- & 2,4- &2,5-xylene sulfonate derivatives IIa-h & IIIa-h & IVa-f were synthesized from the condensation of the appropriate phenol with the three corresponding xylene sulfonyl chlorides Ia-c.
