Abstract
In this investigation the major objective was to improve the industrial chemical processes of utilization of low grade (S = 45.2%) highly arsenical (As = 0.8%) cupreous (Cu = 1.6%) pyrite in Egypt. The central problem that hinders the efficient utilization of this ore is its high content of arsenic in the form of arsenopyrite. As it is known arsenic causes health risks and to somewhat extent damage to pipe lines and combustion equipments.
