The study sample consisted of (n=136) male and female secondary school students addicted to social networking sites. Their ages ranged between (16-18) years with an average age of (16,397) and a standard deviation of (0.548). The researcher used the Emotion Schema Scale - the shortened version (LESS-II) (prepared by: Leahy et al., 2012, translation and Arabization: Abdul Hamid, 2022), and the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale - the modified version DERS- 16 (prepared by: Bjureberg et al., 2016, translation and Arabization : Abadi et al., 2019), the Suicidal Rumination Scale (prepared by: Rogers et al., 2021, translated by the researcher), and the Social Media Addiction Scale (a diagnostic scale) prepared by the researcher. The study also found a statistically significant positive relationship at the 0.01 level between emotional schemas (subdimensions/total score) and difficulties in emotion regulation (subdimensions/total score) and suicidal rumination (subdimensions/total score), and the presence of a direct effect of emotional schemas in suicidal rumination had a rate of 33.7%, and an indirect effect of 22.6% in the presence of difficulties in emotion regulation as a mediator.
