Abstract This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of tacrolimus eye ointment for the treatment of chronic vernal keratoconjunctivitis. The study was intervention, quasi-experimental study performed in Damietta Ophthalmology Hospital. Fifty patients with chronic VKC were assigned into two groups: tacrolimus and control. Treatment efficacy was assessed through the analysis of changes in symptoms and signs, as well as AS–OCT. Data were analyzed using data entry program. The study showed that tacrolimus eye ointment is effective and safe for relieving the signs and symptoms of VKC. AS–OCT is a very reliable instrument for documentation of improvement in VKC patients. |
