المستخلص Accurate diagnosis and treatment plane of Class II subdivisions have been a challenge for the clinicians not only because of difficulties in treatment plane but also for the complexity of the origin. It is important to understand the characteristics of asymmetry in this type of malocclusion. Cone-beam (CBCT) began a new era in the diagnosis of asymmetry by reducing projection errors common in conventional radiology. These tools are reliable for assessing asymmetry in syndromic and non-syndromic patients. They offer accurate and detailed information on diagnosis and treatment planning and enable quantitative measurements comparisons. CBCT images can be acquired visualization in all three planes of space (axial, coronal and sagittal), as well as in a panoramic view. These images also have the further advantage of not suffering from magnification or distortion in both size and shape. |
