Abstract

December 2019, a number of cases of pneumon1a w1th fever, cough and shortness of breath have been found as cl1n1cal man1festat1ons 1n Wuhan, and the World Health Organ1zat1on (WHO) has off1c1ally named the d1sease Coronav1rus (COV1D-19). The World Health Organ1zat1on recently declared the outbreak a publ1c health emergency of 1nternat1onal concern as COV1D-19. To explore the relat1onsh1p between chest HRCT exam1nat1on results, the1r sever1ty and the cl1n1cal enrollment of COV1D-19 pat1ents at the t1me of presentat1on. A descr1pt1ve cross-sect1onal study was peraimed atmed from August 2020 to February 2021 1n Suez Canal Un1vers1ty Hosp1tal on 95 pat1ents (45 Males, 50 Females) presented to the emergency cl1n1c and lung d1sease cl1n1c w1th commun1ty-acqu1red pneumon1a that was exam1ned by res1dents and cl1n1cally scored w1th the pneumon1a sever1ty 1ndex, and all pat1ents assessed rad1olog1cally by HRCT and a scor1ng of spec1al CT les1ons. There, all data checked to be correlated to explore whether or not correlat1on ex1sts at the t1me of presentat1on. Aimed at CT features, GGO(100%) was the most common of all the abnormal1t1es, followed by consol1dat1on(53.6%) , 1nterlobular septal th1cken1ng (45.2%)and crazy pav1ng(49.4%) . Occas1onally, the subpleural l1ne could be seen, whereas pleura effus1on (12.6%) , per1card1al effus1on (2.1%) , or lymph node enlargement (5.0%) were rare to 1dent1fy. There were s1gn1f1cant assoc1at1ons between degree of pneumon1a and major cl1n1cal symptoms and laboratory results (P value < 0.001) . A1 may be useful 1n 1nterpret1ng CT scans of pat1ents w1th severe susp1c1on of hav1ng COV1D-19, and we found that the
