Abstract

The sustainable design process involves creating and building projects in an environmentally friendly manner, using specific techniques and materials that are resource efficient and do not harm the environment. Directly affecting the various stages of the project’s life, one of these stages is architectural design.
Effective time management, performance and quality are crucial aspects in construction projects. However, current methods do not fully include or integrate the principles and components of sustainable project management. However, there is growing recognition within the construction industry of the importance of sustainable project management.
Both concepts play vital roles in understanding the importance of managing project time, quality and cost effectively, as well as enhancing overall performance throughout the project life cycle.
It also contributes to improving project results in terms of performance, time and quality, allowing resources to be used more efficiently, achieving the optimal balance between cost, quality and time within the project schedules and schedule, and meeting the requirements of stakeholders.
This study addresses the problem of the lack of connection or a mechanism to link sustainable development standards and project management, which does not achieve buildings that do not keep pace with the requirements of the times. This is done by studying the current situation of building and construction paths in social housing projects in Egypt, knowing the current situation in the United Kingdom, and finding equal similarities and differences at the level of applying this mechanism in building and construction projects.
The study aims to study a mechanism to link project management and sustainable development standards in social housing projects in Egypt.
Based on the results discussed, recommendations were made to enhance the implementation of sustainable project management in Egypt.
