Abstract

The present investigation was conducted at Etay El-Baroud, Agriculture Research Station, Agricultural Research Center (A.R.C.), Egypt during the two successive growing seasons of 2021/2022 and 2022/2023. The objectives of the present study were to investigate the response of some bread wheat cultivars to applied nitrogen fertilizer levels. 5.1. Effect of nitrogen rates, wheat cultivars and their interactions on earliness and growth attributes. The results demonstrated that, in both study seasons, the various wheat cultivates, nitrogen fertilization rates, and their interactions all had a substantial impact on the number of days to maturity and heading. 5.1.1. Nitrogen fertilization rates effect: The findings demonstrated that heading and maturity dates in both seasons were significantly delayed as a result of the increased nitrogen fertilizer rate. The wheat plant with the shortest days to maturity and heading was the one fertilized with 40 kg N/fed. Increasing the nitrogen fertilizer rate in both seasons steadily improved the height of wheat plants. The highest plant height were reported by wheat plants fertilized with 80 kg N/fed in both seasons.
