Abstract Pseudomonas aeruginosa) were obtained from Out-patient Clinic and inpatient of different departments of Tanta University Hospitals as well as from the culture collection of Microbiology and Immunology Department, Faculty of Pharmacy, Tanta University. The isolates were identified and tested for susceptibility to different antimicrobial agents using the agar dilution method and/or broth dilution method. Two hundred MDR isolates from each recovered species were selected to perform further investigation. Multiple antibiotic resistance (MAR) index values were determined: 86.5% of S. aureus isolates and all P. aeruginosa isolates exhibited a MAR index value <0.2. In addition, 29.5% of the isolates showed a MAR index value greater than 0.7. |
