Abstract

The present study deals with the hydrogeochemistry of Sidri – Baba Basins – South Sinai, Egypt. It is located between latitudes latitudes 28̊ 51’ N & 29̊ 10’ N and Longitudes 33̊ 5’ E & 33̊ 31’ E. the main ground water aquifer of the study area is quaternary aquifer, which represented by 25 groundwater samples, 12 water samples tapping for the carboniferous aquifer, 2 samples are Cambrian Ordovician and 2 samples are Precambrian. The classification of the groundwater samples according the total dissolved solids reflected that the majority of groundwater samples (60%) are related to brackish , 20% is fresh , 16% salty water and 4% saline water types in Quaternary aquifers. While in carboniferous aquifer, the majority of groundwater samples (75%) are related to fresh water, 9% is brackish water, 8% of each salty and saline water types. Also, 100%, 50% of groundwater samples are fresh water types in Cambrian Ordovician, Precambrian aquifer, respectively. The area suffers from shortage of water resources. So, the modification of TFC membranes was done by grapheme oxide nanoshets, humic acid and dopamine for desalination of water to render suitable water for drinking and irrigation. characterizations of these materials were done by XRD, contact angle and the morphology by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Under optimum conditions the modifications of TFC with mixing between GO, HA, DA gives the best desalination process of brackich water.
