Abstract

Nucleotide Binding Oligomerization Domain Containing 2 (NOD2) is a key player in the innate immune system. It primarily activates the nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells (NF-κB) signaling pathway, which is crucial for immune responses. NOD2 is upregulated in psoriatic epidermis and can collaborate with toll-like receptors and regulate inflammatory and apoptotic signals involved in the disease pathogenesis.
