Abstract

Dental caries is a pandemic disease owing to its global prevalence. Over the last few decades, there has been a shift from the conventional surgical approach for the elimination of carious lesions to the development of noninvasive treatments for these lesions. Biomimetic mineralization is a novel strategy for the development of biomaterials and simulating the development of hierarchical structures similar to enamel for prophylaxis and the treatment of dental caries. Therefore, the aim of this study is to evaluate and compare the remineralization potential of nano hydroxyapatite and nano chitosan on white spot lesion of permeant teeth.
