Abstract
Over the past few years, there has been a rise in the number of fast-track construction projects in response to increasing demand. Despite the inherent risks and complexities of the construction industry, project deadlines have been pushed forward due to various factors, including emergency preservation and time-to-market constraints. This research sought to identify the primary risks associated with construction projects in Egypt through a data-driven approach. By conducting a comprehensive review of 43 Scopus-published papers, this study illuminates the role of risk management in such projects, identifies accelerated techniques and their classifications, and provides a categorization of risk management processes and risks. The research involved an examination of international literature to pinpoint risks, an analysis of local fast-track construction projects in Egypt through a qualitative questionnaire, and the creation of risk response plans for identified risks. The results of this study can aid construction project managers in creating more effective risk management strategies and procedures to make informed decisions about risk mitigation and response plans. Ultimately, this study aims to contribute to a more in-depth understanding of construction project risks in Egypt and the development of more effective risk management processes.
