Abstract The aim of this study are imaging of some abdominal organs in clinically normal horses and measuring the dimensions of some of these organs. The study was carried out on 19 clinically normal mixed breeds of horses. SonoScape A5v with 3.5 MHz microconvex array transducer was used in this study. Transcutaneous ultrasonographic images were taken for some abdominal organs from left side (stomach, spleen, left kidney, left colon, small colon and jejunum) and right side (liver, right colon, duodenum, right kidney, cecum and pancreas) and some dimensions were recorded for stomach, spleen, kidney, colon, duodenum and cecum. The obtained results showed that the use of 3.5 MHz micro convex transducer is sufficient for imaging the abdominal organs and its organs. Recording the normal ultrasonographic anatomy will be helpful as a guide for diagnosis of abdominal disorders in equine. |
