Abstract Appropriate postoperative pain control in pediatrics provides numerous advantages as smooth recovery from surgery, reduces sympathetic response and catecholamine release and has an immediate impact on the heart by lowering the incidence of tachycardia, hypertension, and postoperative arrhythmias In recent years, awareness of the value of adequate postoperative pain relief has been increased and several methods have been introduced in modern paediatric anaesthesia. Because of the increased focus on multimodal anesthesia procedures and developing evidence of of improved outcomes, regional analgesia has become a standard component of modern paediatric anaesthetic practice. |
