Abstract Metal separation from ores is a vital step in the mining industry. Titanium ore can be used to produce titanium, a highly sought-after metal due to its extraordinary strength and corrosion resistance. The goal of this study was to create a new and efficient process for separating titanium dioxide from ilmenite while reducing environmental damage and maximizing economic profit. The separation approach has been investigated for upgrading Abu Ghalaga ilmenite ore using acid leaching. The study’s findings revealed that acid type, increasing concentration, time, and temperature all had a significant impact on leaching rates. Under ideal conditions, ilmenite ore yielded approximately 30% TiO2. This research helps to understand the fundamental principles of mineral processing and offers a potential solution for the long-term production of titanium dioxide. |
