Physical and physiological fitness remains a goal pursued by athletes and coaches at various levels. Attention to the stability of the central part of the body, core stability, is a new trend in the field of sports medicine and the preparation of athletes as it aims to increase compatibility between the muscles surrounding the spine and the abdominal, back and gluteal muscles. The focus was on the strength of the central stabilizing muscles of the athletes only to prevent injury, relieve lower back pain, and maintain strength, and then develop their use as a result of the increasing realization of their functional importance towards improving sports performance.
The core stability muscles consist anatomically of a group of torso muscles surrounding the spine and abdomen and can be described as a muscular box where the abdominal muscles come from the front, the diaphragm muscle occupies the upper surface, the lower muscles of the pelvis and glutes occupy the bottom of the box and the back muscles come in Back, and all these muscles work together to support and stabilize the spine.
Billss (2005) mentions that the stability and strength of the central part of the body has become the main key to the training program for athletes for all levels, where the muscles of the central part of the body act as a bridge that connects the upper and lower limbs of the body, and for the initial stability of the body to occur, this requires the preparation of a sound backbone, and she indicated Some studies indicate that there is a relationship between the stability of the central part of the body and the decrease in the possibility of injuries to athletes. Therefore, training programs must begin with exercises for the central part of the body, provided that they rise to include complex movements with the integration of other training principles.
It should be noted that raising the level of any sport requires continuing efforts to raise the level of the players in all physical, skillful, tactical, psychological and mental aspects, and mainly in the physical aspects, as it has been proven by scientific research that in many sports, its players show some deviations in stature, which leads to This makes these deviations an obstacle to raising the level of fitness of the players as well as their motor abilities.
The researcher believes that the multiplicity of tournaments and competitions in many different sports may lead to an increase in the possibility of players being exposed to back pain as a result of the lack of most physical preparation programs - within the limits of the groups that fall within the framework of the researcher’s work - for training programs for developing the central stability muscles in a scientific and regulated manner, given Because the coaches are not aware of the importance of the relationship between them, as it is limited to performing some exercises of the abdominal and back muscles individually and in an incomplete manner, which negatively affects the morphology of the spine of the athletes, and thus is later considered a strong obstacle to improving the level of skillful performance, which prompted the researcher to highlight the importance of showing the relationship between muscle strength Central stability of athletes and spinal morphology.
The researcher believes that this area is the main axis for the athlete to acquire various skills related to his game, and that the level of the player’s level and strengthening depends on the level of strength and balance of the central part area and the effect of this on the player’s spine, and what is associated with this area of abdominal muscles, lower back, front and back of the thigh.
- Research problem:
The researcher noticed that some fitness trainers used core stability exercises, but without practical knowledge of the importance of the central part of the body and the extent to which it relates to spinal problems. Also, many training programs for developing and strengthening the central stability muscles, which is known as Core Stability Exercise, lead to an improvement in the condition. The physical and health of the athletes, especially strengthening the muscle groups of the abdomen, pelvis and spine, and creating compatibility between the movement of the torso and the stability of the body do not take their right in the training program due to the lack of clarity of the relationship between them and the problems that the player faces, such as pain or injuries that occur to the player’s spine during training or competitions.
The researcher noticed, through his experience working in the field of motor rehabilitation and injuries, and also during his work as a coach for most of the age stages, the continuous complaint of most players in different sports of lower back and shoulder pain, and the negative impact of this on both skillful and physical performance, which prompted the researcher to assume that this may be due to weakness The muscles of the central stability area of the body
The researcher also noted the lack of sufficient previous Arab studies dealing with the relationship between the strength of the core stability exercise muscles and the morphology of the spine and the importance of their impact on the prevention of sports injuries. Therefore, the researcher stresses the importance of the existence of many practical applications in the field of sports injuries around this concept. from the ability to understand core stability and its importance in the field of sports injuries and correction, which prompted the researcher to study the importance of the relationship between the strength of the stabilizing muscles of the central part of the body and its effect on the morphology of the spine of athletes (kabaddi sport).
Based on the foregoing, the importance of the central part area is clear for players in general, and for developing the physical and skill level of all athletes in their sports specialization in particular, as sports skills for different games are usually characterized by requirements that require a high level of compatibility between the muscles of the upper limb and the lower limb and this harmony Closely linked to the strength and stability of the muscles of the central part.
Therefore, the research problem is concluded that it is an attempt by the researcher to study the relationship between the strength of the muscles of the central part and the morphology of the spine in athletes (Kabaddi sport) in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the effect of the strength of the central stabilizing muscles on this region, because any defect in this region leads in the end to the possibility of injury to the player and thus Moving away, even partially, from practice and modern science seeks to study the causes of sports injuries in order to avoid their occurrence.
- research importance :
1- Scientific importance:
This study is one of the recent scientific attempts that deal with the spine and (central stability) muscles, as the lack of balance between the muscles of this region makes the player vulnerable to injury, which hinders the process of advancing his level in the practiced activity.
It is also considered one of the basic researches dealing with the relationship between the strength and stability of the central part of the body, ”core stability” and its effect on the morphology of the spine of athletes and, consequently, its impact on the level of performance................. In addition to: -
• Opening scientific horizons for researchers towards the importance of studying the relationship between the muscles of the central part of the body and muscle strength in the field of various sports activities.
• Opening horizons to increase the expansion of the use of modern training programs in the field of sports.
2- Practical importance:
The applied importance of the study lies in employing the measurements made by the researcher, in order to find out the extent of the relationship between practicing sports activity on the strength of the central stability area and the morphology of the spine, in order to prevent the player from being injured and thus hindered him, even partially, from his skillful performance. And strive to develop the physical competence of athletes in various sports activities by urging workers in the sports field to use physical exercises that are scientifically designed and regulated to strengthen the muscle groups of the trunk, pelvis and thigh, which are known as the BODY CORE area.
This study also contributes to linking the academic study with the applied system through:
• The possibility of using the results in the training process to reach the global level in sports performance
• The possibility of setting training objectives in light of the physical and skill requirements in an accurate scientific manner
• The possibility of applying this study to different age stages
