المستخلص Two kinds of medicinal plants, i.e Myrrha (Commiphora myrrha), family Burseraceae and Samwah (Cleome droserifolia), family Cleomaceae were subjected to study. The two plants’ chemical composition carried out including : the determination of moisture, ash, crude fiber, crude protein, crude lipid and total carbohydrates. Minerals, qualitative and quantitative analysis of polyphenolic compounds were determined by HPLC. Antifungal activities and effect of aflatoxin B1 on rats in sub acute and acute experiment were carried out using the methanolic extract of the two medicinal plants.I. Chemical analysis :1- Ash, crude fiber, crude protein, crude lipid and total carbohydrates were detection in Myrrha and Samwah. All results were calculated as (g/100g dry weight). It was clear that Samwah have the highest percentage values for ash (31.02%) and crude fiber (17.22%). While, Myrrha showed the highest content value of 60.53% for total carbohydrates, respectively. 2- Calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, zinc, manganese, copper, strontium, nickel, boron, vanadium, silver, lithium and cobalt were found in Myrrha and Samwah plant samples. Znic had the highest content in Myrrha plant in value of 83.94 ppm while Mn, Cu and Sr found in moderat amount of 57.72, 38.93, and 38.09 respectively. However, minerals analysis indicated that Sr ion had the highest value (228.27 ppm) in Samwah plant sample followed by Zn , Mn and B with average values of 81.44, 76.25, and 75.06 ppm ,respectively. 3- The phytochemical constituents of crude methanolic extracts of Myrrha contained terpenes, tannins, flavonoids, saponins, resins, alkaloids, carbohyrates and phenolic glycosides. However Samwah contained the same components as Myrrha except resins.5- HPLC analysis proved that Myrrha and Samwah contained Catechin , Coffeic acid ,Syringic acid , Rutin ,Ellagic acid ,Coumaric acid ,Vanillin , Naringenin ,Taxifolin ,Cinnamic acid and Kaempferol with different concentrations comparing with standard compounds.II. Antifungal activities : The antifungal effect of crude methanolic extracts of Myrrha and Samwah under study with various concentrations were assessed by the presence or absence of inhibition zones and mycelia dry weight measured after incubation. The present study uesed four fungal strains: Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus parasiticus, Aspergillus ochraceus and Fusarium moniliforme .III. Effect of aflatoxin B1 on rats1- The injection of aflatoxin B1 with different concentrations caused a highly significant increase in serum blood parameters in sub acute and acute experiment .2- For 30 days we oral treatment rats with Myrrha and Samwah methanolic extracts at a dose of 200,300,1000 and 1500 mg/1000g b.w. 3- The oral treatment with methanolic extracts caused a decrease in SOD, CAT , GSH , MDA , ALP , AST , ALT , urea , creatinine, total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, HDL and vLDL. The treatment with all extracts showed an increase in total protein and body weight. |
