Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate corneal endothelial cell density and morphology among different age groups of emmetropic individuals This study was across sectional study which was conducted at Ophthalmology Department, Suez Canal University Hospital, Ismailia, Egypt from may 2019 to January 2020. This study included 80 emmetropic eyes (40 right and 40 left eyes) of 40 patients, 44 were females and 36 male , Patients is divided into five age groups • group 1(5-14y) • group 2 (15-29y) • group 3 (30-44y) • group 4 (45-60y) • group 5 (>60y) They undergoes specular microscopy examination The mean age of the studied cases is 35.05 ± 20.77 .Mean ECD is 2830.1 ± 275.7 Before the procedure ,complete ophthalmic examinations were performed to all patients including the following :history, visual acuity, slit lamp examination, IOP measurement, fundus examination, and imaging of the corneal endothelium by noncontact specular microscope (NIDEK CEM-530, Ltd., gamagori, Japan) to assess [endothelial cell density (ECD), central corneal thickness (CCT), Coefficient of Variation (CV)and Hexagonal cells (HEX)] |
