Abstract Summary and Conclusions 49 SUMMARY Erectile Dysfunction is defined as inability to achieve and/or maintain an erection that is sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance. It represents an increasing health concern causing significant impact on the quality of life (QoL) of men globally. It is estimated that 322 million men worldwide will be affected by ED by 2025, an increase from 152 million men in 1995.Lines of treatment of ED may include lifestyle modification (Diet, Exercise and weight loss), vacuum constriction devices (penis pump), oral pharmacological therapies such as phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5 inhibitors), intraurethral (IU) alprostadil, intracavernosal injections (ICI), penile prosthesis implantations, low-intensity extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT), intracavernosal stem cell therapy, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy. |
