Abstract
2-thioxodihydropyrimidine-4,6(1H,5H)-dione (1) was obtained by Adding
sodium ethoxide solution, Thiourea and Diethyle malonate. The reaction mixture
was kept reflux in (80%) yield. Scheme 1.

2,4,6-trichloropyrimidine (2) was obtained by putting 10 ml of
Phospherous oxy chloride for each 1 gm of 1 and reflux it with stiring in (80%)
yield scheme 2

6-chloropyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione (3) was obtained by Adding of 2
to NaOH in 30 ml of water and reflux them in (50%) yield, scheme 3.
