Abstract

Supracondylar femoral fractures provide therapeutic challenges to even the most experienced trauma surgeons. Although surgical treatment is now recommended for most of the supracondylar femoral fractures, controversy remains regarding the optimum fixation device. (4)
The aim of this work was to evaluate the results of treatment of these fractures by the Locking Compression Plate. The material of this study included 12 patients with supracondylar fractures of the femur treated in Zagazig university hospital and Kafr Saad emergency Hospital between August 2019 and July 2020, all patients were fixed by the LCP.
The age incidence ranged from twenty to seventy years with an average of 45.6 years. There were 8 males and 4 females. Males were dominant due to outdoor working. The right side was affected in 5 patients and the left side in 7 patients.
