Abstract

Shear bond test will be performed to debond the zirconia discs from the veneering ceramics
using the universal testing machine as described in the ISO 17095:2013, (27) at a crosshead speed
of 0.5 mm/min. The assembled specimen will be fixed in the lower plate form of the testing
machine. Shear force will be applied to the bonded area using a chisel shaped blade.
with a compression mode of the machine, to exert load at the bonded surface between the
zirconia surface and veneering ceramic interface. The load at which the vennering ceramics will
be separated from zirconia surface will be recorded in Kilograms through a digital monitor.
