Patients, Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional observational study was conducted on thirty menpatients selectedfromSurgeryDepartmentatElMiniaUniversity Hospital(Egypt).Theywere assignedrandomly intotwoequalgroupsinnumber,theiragerangedfrom50-60years. Patientswereevaluatedby Rockportwalkingtestusing(treadmill),Fazziniweightscaleand fastingbloodplasmatestusingEnzymeLinkedImmunosorbentAssay(ELISAkit)before andafterthestudy.Thestudygroup(A)receivedaerobictrainingfor8weeksas3sessions /weekeachsessionlastsfor45minutesandcontrolgroup(B)wereonlyadvisedabout healthylifestyle.Results:TheresultsshowedthatVO2peakwassignificantly increasedand heartratewassignificantlydecreasedinthetraininggroupcomparedtothecontrolgroup(P <0.05).Ghrelinconcentrationwasincreasedsignificantly inthetraininggroupcomparedto thecontrolgroup(P<0.05),whileplasmaleptinhormonedidnotchangesignificantly after trainingfor both groups. Conclusion: Thestudyconcluded thataerobictrainingincreasesghrelin hormone levelsVO2 peakafter8weeksofaerobicexerciseandaweekofdetraining however, plasmaleptindose not affected bythis protocol in malepatients with colorectalcancer. |
