Abstract Liver is the second-largest organ after skin and the largest gland in the body. In humans, its weight ranges between 1.2 and 1.8 kg. It is a wedge-shaped organ occupying most of the right hypochondrium and extending into the epigastrium and left hypochondrium. Liver anatomy can be demonstrated into the functional anatomy and the morphological or classical anatomy (Mitra and Metcalf, 2011). |
