Abstract
The purpose of this work was to conduct comparative study between high shear granulator and fluid bed granulator in the preparation of tablets containing combination of lamivudine and zidovudine .The tablets produced by both techniques were evaluated for physical and chemical characteristics. The work of this thesis showed the advantage of formulation of lamivudine &zidovudine tablets by spraying the powder in the fluidized bed dryer instead of powder granulation in the high shear mixer granulator. The Results showed better dissolution together with higher hardness & better friability for tablets produced by Fluidized bed dryer technique. The tablets kept at Long term and accelerated stability stability conditions are conforming to specification, and the results shown in the validation study confirm that the proposed method for analysis of Lamivudine & Zidovudine in the film coated tablets is valid method
