Abstract

The aim of this study is to have an early more precise way to predict failed induction in patients undergoing elective termination of pregnancy and those more likely to undergo caesarian section. This will inevitably spare patients with decreased chances of favorable induction a long and exhausting trial of labour with increased probability of complications and an emergency caesarian. This prospective study was conducted in Cairo university hospital for obstetric and gynecology in labor room from December 2013 till June 2014 The number of patient involved in this study was 80 primigravidas. Cross - section study. Age (20 - 33) years; parity (All patient should be primigravidas); gestational age (37 - 42) week gestation; Single fetus with cephalic presentation. Ture labor pains or clear onset of labour as diagnosed by cervical changes, Previous uterine sugery (scared uterus), cephalo-pelvic disproportion, severe oligo -hydarminos i.e.: amniotic fluid index less than 5, Twin pregnancy, Mal - presentations, fetal macrosomia.
