Abstract

A number of Arabian mares were conducted in this study from the period January 2012 till February 2014, these mares were reared in farms around Cairo-Giza region. In experiment I, 26 anestrus Arabian mares affected with inactive ovary in approach to induce estrus by injecting them sequential hormones P4, E2 and hCG the estrus induction response was 80.77%. In Experiment II, 58 subfertile Arabian mares from different categories were subjected to a trail to obtain day 7 and 8 post ovulation embryos to be recovered and transferred to a local breed mare recovery rate was 59% ,while pregnancy achieved 94% from the transferred embryos while only 88% of pregnant mare foaled at term. In experiment III, 47Arabian mares were carried out as an attempt to obtain embryos and assay the levels of P4 and E2 around day of transfer only 68%of mares recovered embryos and 32% failed. Hormonal assay showed significant difference in E2 and P4 between the 2 groups (recovered and non recovered), P4 was significantly higher in pregnant than non pregnant (p>0.05) as well as E2 showed no significant difference in both groups
