Abstract Introduction: In most studies, evaluation of the efficacy of the PECs is done under ultrasound guidance however this is time consuming, requires adequate equipment, and well trained manpower with ultrasound familiarity, which may not be feasible in centers with high patient load and limited resource settings. Also ultrasound guided PECs block poses increased associated risks such as iatrogenic vascular puncture, accidental nerve injuries and makes surgical dissection difficult. The aim of this study was therefore to evaluate the efficacy of the intraoperative PECs by the surgeon in the management of post-operative pain. |
