Abstract Analysis of phenotypic traits of used rice genotypes reveals that culm diameter, culm length, leaf length, leaf width and panicle length were positively correlated. Conversely, culm diameter was negatively correlated with culm number. Also the resistance of Hybrid2 and Orabi3 genotypes to water deficit stress appeared to related to their low biomass, low leaf rolling index, low transpiration rate, high chlorophyll and carotenoids content, high photosynthesis rate and occasionally DEP1 expression under water deficit conditions. The expression of Nal3, Cyto p450 like and DEP1 genes was not comparable in all genotypes. For example, NAL3 was expressed only in Hybrid1 genotype. |
