Abstract

This work considers primary broadcasting and multicasting systems for multimedia streaming applications with an aiding cooperative secondary system (Cognitive Radio or LTE Wi-Fi Aggregation). We propose a novel Adaptive Combined Channel Network Coding (AC2NC) technique for the secondary system data retransmissions that first evaluates the channel feedback and then operates adaptively with the optimal coding technique according to the variable channel conditions. This is to decrease retransmission time, enhance the system throughput, and avail more opportunities for the secondary system spectrum access.
