Abstract The use of hair growth preparations is essential to a wide population all over the world. Thus development of simple and reliable analytical methods for routine quality control is necessary. Hair growth preparations are frequently developed and new compounds are being registered, for optimization of action and avoiding some side effects. Aminexil (AX) and stemoxidine (ST) are two new compounds patent by L’Oreal. The aim of the present work is to develop and validate simple, reliable and sensitive analytical methods for the quantification of the newly patent compounds, and others; namley, minoxidil (MX), niacinamide (NA) and pyridoxine (PD), in their pure forms, and in their cosmetic preparations. Different analytical techniques were applied in this thesis, such as, HPLC, TLC and spectrophotometry. Electrochemical technique was also used and several ion selective electrodes were prepared. |
