Abstract
This essay describes the epidemiology of prostate cancer, its recent trends,
risk factors and outlines the preventive options available for patients including
screening strategies.
A literature review was a made of the most relevant papers related to the
epidemiology of prostate cancer, its etiology, prevention, and management.
Prostate cancer is a crucial health problem due to its high prevalence; it is
the second most prevalent cancer in men globally. Major risk factors involve
family history, age, race, and genetic susceptibility. PSA-based screening remains
controversial and recommended as an individual screening strategy. Diet, exercise,
and lifestyle changes may slow disease progression, reduce mortality, and reduce
the overall burden of high-grade and fatal PCa
