Abstract The objectives of current work were investigation of the efficacy of AMH concentration analysis in expecting follicular population, efficacy of injection of the superovulatory drug ”follitropin” at metestrous phase in comparison to diestrus phase and evaluation of the quantity and quality of the recovered embryos. Blood samples were collected from the coccygeal vien for AMH analysis, estrus was synchronized either by PRID or PGF2α, superovulatory drug was injected at either metestrus or diestrus, embryos were collected seven days following insemination. The results showed a significant increase in large follicles number in groups with AMH concentration more than 1ng/ml (5.6 ± 0.23 & 4.0 ± 0.26) than those of AMH less than 1ng/ml (0.83 ± 0.28 & 0.33 ± 0.22). Number of recovered embryos / animal was significantly higher in groups that synchronized by PRID (3.75 ± 0.32 & 3.2 ± 0.71) than those synchronized by double dose PGF2α (2.0 ±0.26 & 2.2 ± 0.37). In conclusion AMH assay is a crucial issue in expecting superovulatory response in buffaloes, synchronization of buffaloes with PRID gives better results than using double dose of PGF2α, superovulation in metestrous phase gives similar results to superovulation at diestrous phase. |
